Elaine Feeney joined PointOne in 2018. Previously the Vice President of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Global Expansion, Elaine was responsible for expanding AWS’s worldwide data center facilities and network infrastructure. She oversaw the strategy, planning, and contracting of data center facilities, edge nodes/POPs, dark fiber, and subsea cable network connectivity with the aim of continually increasing the AWS portfolio globally. The AWS global portfolio consists of over 200 data centers across 55 diverse availability zones, within 18 geographic regions across the globe.
Prior to Amazon Web Services, Elaine was the CEO of Wayin, a social media search and analytics start-up. Before that, Elaine focused on her passion for renewable energy and was responsible for the business development, negotiations, and construction of large renewable energy plants. Additionally, she has more than 25 years of diverse entrepreneurial experience and software engineering leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies including Sun Microsystems, Citibank, and MCI.
Elaine has been recognized as a strong technical leader by achieving “Outstanding Women in Business”, “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “CEO of the Year” finalist awards. Elaine dedicates time to advocating the benefits of women leaders and increasing the number of women in leadership and technology-related jobs. Elaine mentors new technology start-ups as part of TechStars and The Nature Conservancy initiative to accelerate innovation to solve air, water, and climate issues.
